IS WEB 2.0 ON YOUR RADAR? SURVEY RESULT ABOUT WEB 2.0
According to a recent survey by Scene 7 (an Adobe Corp. company), half of online businesses plan to add “web 2.0″ online capabilities to their sites within the next six months, and over 93% intend to do so within the next year.
The survey was conducted from Nov. 7 to Dec. 7, 2007. The responses stemmed from retailers, manufacturers, agencies, and high-tech companies that sell products or services online.

It is interesting of course what the drivers of so-called web 2.0 initiates are. When asked the question “how do you typically measure effectiveness when adding web 2.0 rich internet enhancements”, most online retailers measure their investments on the ability to
- increase conversion rate
- increase clicks/usage
- increase revenue
The results were as seen in the image below (click to see full size version):
The Devil is in the details - that goes for web 2.0 as well
The survey also tried to discover exactly which Web 2.0 features the companies currently are offering, or a planning to offer, and the effectiveness of each feature. Interestingly user ratings, rankings, comments are perceived to be the most effective closely followed by alternative (product) views.
The rest of the list is here (click to see full size)
