Since one of my internet domains is gone due to the apparent bankruptcy of the service provider, I will start publishing my video footage of hotel rooms I stay in during my travels here. What does that have to do with marketing, you ask? Well, not much - unless you travel a bit.

First video is not the oldest one. But I had to start somewhere. The videos below were filmed in May of 2009 in Slovenia’s Capital city of Ljubljana. So here we go:

The City Hotel is a nice 3 star hotel. And in my opinion much nicer than the “so-called” 5 start Lev Hotel - the only other hotel I have experienced in Ljubljana.

Ljubljana city center is quite small. But cozy. And the City Hotel is only a very short walk from the small square where the church and the bridges can be seen.

I found the service in the City Hotel to be quite nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. Below you can will find two videos. One of the room I stayed in - the other of a suite I will stay in next time I am in Ljubljana with my family. In fact, if you are in Ljubljana on business and have meetings or social events, you might even consider one of their suites.

The room I stayed in was quite adequate. Especially considering the price. It is - mind you - clearly a hotel designed primarily for leisure travellers, but if you are travelling for business you can easily get used to this hotel. But - be sure to get one of the rooms with a balcony. I did, as you can see in the video below.

A few things to remember about City Hotel in Ljubljana:
- Before you book, be sure to get in touch with Rudi at the hotel. I think he might be able to get you a nice room and make sure you experience a nice stay
- The breakfast buffet is outrageously nice - get there early to allow yourself time enough to taste all the different delicacies.
- It’s a no-smoking hotel - but if you get a room with a balcony, well…
- There is no minibar - and - if I remember correctly - no room service either. But there is a refrigerator stocked with a few complimentary drinks. For more, you need to visit one of the local stores. Which, by the way, should save you a few bucks compared to the typical minibar prices
- There is a café downstairs in the lobby - (they sell cigarettes too)
- The iron and ironing board is located downstairs nearby the restrooms - not a problem, as guests seem to find it interesting to watch other guests iron their clothes.
- Internet works like a charm (I seem to recall that the hotel does not offer wireless, yet)
